What a wonderful hotel! We stayed for five nights in January 2026 and have only good things to say about our experience. The hotel is open & airy and the rooms offer plenty of space. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly and Michele made us feel right at. home. Cigno Hotel is highly recommended and we would definitely stay here again.

My partner and I had amazing stay at Cigno hotel. Beautiful layout, incorporating the original foundation of the building. It was very quiet which made it such a relaxing stay, and it’s a small hotel so there was almost no people or a wait to have access. The staff was very kind, especially Michele who handled arranging a rental car to arrive to the hotel so we could explore the Cenotes. Breakfast is included and it was delicious. They did not skimp on the avocado and all the dishes we tried were fantastic. The hotel is a little far from the downtown (we took an Uber), but we barely had to wait for an Uber and it was extremely cheap and a short ride. Would highly recommend coming to the Cigno hotel if you’re looking for a quiet getaway with good food. (Bonus: they also give you a welcome cocktail upon arrival and checkout is at 12!)

My husband and I stayed at Cigno for five nights in February as part of our babymoon. While we did explore Centro some, we leaned into really relaxing and treated Cigno like a boutique resort. We spent most mornings at the rooftop pool on cabanas. The daily breakfast is honestly one of the standout features! It’s a Michelin-star breakfast every single morning. Fresh juices made to order, excellent coffee, and beautifully prepared dishes — all included w the room, adding tremendous value. We booked a suite with a balcony and highly recommend it. We heard from another guest that their Sandard King felt a bit small, but ours was not. The balcony was a highlight & I spent a lot of time sitting outside reading. I’d suggest requesting a room on the second or third floor rather than the first. The hotel’s restaurant is exquisite, but sound from diners can carry into all rooms, especially on weekends. It wasn’t too disruptive for us, and white noise easily solved it, but it’s something to be aware of if you’re sensitive to sound. My only 4/5 star is the location. It is a bit far from the chic restaurant neighborhoods, which meant we either walked into Centro (1 km) or grabbed very inexpensive taxis. That said, my husband appreciated how quiet the street is — it definitely contributed to the peaceful feel of the rooftop. Still, if being in the middle of the action is important to you, this is worth consideration. Considering how much time we spent enjoying the property, plus the complimentary breakfast, we found the price for our mini-suite reasonable. But If you plan to leave early every morning for cenotes or ruins, you may not fully benefit from what makes this hotel special. Lastly, the staff is wonderful. Exceptional service every day - we spoke Spanish but they can all switch to English if needed

Staying at Cigno was quite possibly my favorite hotel stay to date. The building itself is meticulously crafted and the rooms are spacious, chic, and comfortable. The rooftop pool was incredible and the staff was top tier - especially Michelle at the front desk. This felt like a little oasis in the middle of Merida. The restaurant was also so good that we ate dinner there everyday. I am hoping I can visit again one day!

I recently stayed at this beautiful hotel in Mérida, Mexico, and I was beyond impressed! The property is absolutely gorgeous—every corner feels thoughtfully designed, with a charming mix of local character and elegance. The rooms and common areas were spotless; you can tell cleanliness is a top priority here. The food was outstanding as well—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, making every meal a treat. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. Most of the staff are fluent in English. I can’t wait to come back!

We had the most wonderful, dreamy stay at Cigno in the Ermita neighborhood of Merida to celebrate my birthday. Cigno made it feel like such a very special occasion! We loved the area with all it's little galleries, the cantina around the corner, and appreciated returning from the bustle of downtown to this intimate oasis. Michelle and other staff were so helpful in planning our excursions to cenotes and uxmal. Highly recommend using Willberth, the driver that Cigno has a relationship with - he was kind, funny, and helpful with local suggestions. He took us to the best cenote of the trip! The service was excellent and breakfast every morning was incredible. I miss it so much and have already recommended both Merida and Hotel Cigno to everyone I know!

We just got back from a 3 night stay in Merida. It was our first time in the city. Upon arrival the lovely Michelle took care of us and got us some icey cold hand towels to freshen up. She took us up to our room which was amazing! The rooms squeaky clean and are stocked with all the amenities you would need and the beds are large and comfy. The smart tvs in the room are a nice touch as the local channels at a hotel are always terrible. We got an included breakfast every morning and that was also amazing. Each item on the menu was great. The coffee is also to die for. The location is perfect as it is not too close to the main plaza where there were a lot of events going on. We couldn't hear anything from our room. We will definitely stay here again in the future.
